On 11th March, 2022 we had the absolute pleasure of styling the wedding of Karis & Ross, the now Mr & Mrs Morton. Karis & Ross had chosen The Ashes Wedding Barns, a stunning venue set in the Staffordshire countryside.
Following the wedding, we asked Karis for a bit of feed back on how her day went.
Here is what she had to say...
Tell us a little bit about your wedding day
Our wedding day was such a relief! As a covid bride, having to reschedule, I was never 100% certain it would go ahead. As the day neared I could never allow myself to get excited just incase a new lockdown was enforced.
But the day for us signified so much more than the wedding itself. It cemented our family unit, finally giving me the same surname as my children. It celebrated our relationship and also allowed us to spend time with all of our family and friends, many of whom we had not been able to see for such a long time. It was wonderful watching everyone drinking, dancing and enjoying themselves without any restrictions.
Why did you choose us to style your day?
Choosing Team Rustic was probably the easiest choice we made for our wedding. Having followed you on instagram for so long, I already knew that your style was perfect for us and the barns. We wanted rustic and elegance which was achieved seamlessly and so much better than I could have ever imagined.
Family and friends commented on how beautiful you made each barn look, but so many remember the smell. The greenery and flowers filled the ceremony room with the most amazing aroma, to this day whenever we have eucalyptus it takes me right back to our wedding day.
Nothing seemed too much for Lesley and the team, when I wasnt sure what I wanted you patiently gave me options, and helped bring my vision to reality. On the day you even helped with loose ends that I didn't have time for.
What was your favourite part of our styling?
You were an absolute dream to work with. I simply cannot pick my favourite bit of styling because each part of it brought so much to our day. Our floral circle that we reused throughout the day really made a statement of our top table. Seeing the tables and the wedding breakfast room set up so perfectly literally overwhelmed me with how stunning it was. Even the biscuits that we used as favours were beautiful.
I couldn't recommend you enough to future couples looking for a stylist. What I quickly realised was that I wanted a stress free morning prior to our ceremony and Team Rustic being there ensured that was possible!
Any advice for future couples? For future couples…my final recommendation would be a videographer if you can budget for one. For me, this was a last minute decision only booking 3 weeks prior to the day, but literally the best thing we did. The video is so much better than I ever could have imagined. It caught the details we missed and brought back so many emotions of the day. It is something I have looked at so many times and having lost relatives since it is so lovely to look back on happy times with them.
Huge congratulations Mr & Mrs Morton once again, and thank you so much for your wonderful words, it really does mean the world to us.
