An Elegant Summer Wedding at The Palm House, Sefton Park
Some venues don't need much to make an impact, and The Palm House in Sefton Park is certainly one of them. Filled with towering palms, beautiful blooms and stunning Victorian architecture, it provided the perfect setting for Jasmine and Christopher's wedding day. From the moment we met them, they knew exactly how they wanted their day to feel - classic, chic and timeless, with subtle Bridgerton inspired touches that complemented the venue rather than competed with it.
As Jasmine later shared with us, "We wanted a classic, chic style wedding and that's what we got! The Rustic Wedding Company nailed the brief and created a timeless wedding." It was a vision we instantly fell in love with.
Walking into The Palm House on the morning of the wedding, it was clear that less really was going to be more. The venue was already bursting with beautiful greenery and flowers, creating its own natural English garden feel. Rather than filling every corner with decor, we carefully styled the space to enhance what was already there, allowing the beauty of the glasshouse to remain the star of the show while adding elegant details throughout.
Keeping with their timeless colour palette of crisp whites and fresh greens, Jasmine chose an elegant bouquet of white calla lilies. Modern yet traditional, the bouquet perfectly reflected her style and paired beautifully with the clean lines of her dress. Her bridesmaids each carried a single calla lily stem, creating a beautifully understated look that felt effortlessly sophisticated. Christopher and his groomsmen wore matching calla lily buttonholes, tying the entire wedding party together with one simple, elegant flower.
Looking back on the day, Jasmine told us, "My bouquet was exactly what I envisioned it to be and more!" Comments like that mean the world to us because every bouquet is designed to reflect our couple's personality and vision.
Although the styling felt beautifully simple, every detail had been carefully considered. One of the most important conversations we had with Jasmine and Christopher during the planning process was how to make the most of their floral budget. By thoughtfully repurposing the ceremony flowers throughout the day, we were able to create three completely different looks using the same arrangements. Once the ceremony had finished, the flowers became elegant table centrepieces for the wedding breakfast before being moved again to frame the stage for the evening celebrations. It's one of our favourite ways to help couples maximise their investment while ensuring every part of the day feels beautifully styled.
The reception tables continued the same elegant aesthetic. Rather than overcrowding each table, we kept everything clean and refined with beautiful floral centrepieces, our signature gold charger plates and soft styling that allowed every element to breathe. Jasmine had designed her own menus and thank you cards, wanting to include something personal that reflected both her and Christopher. We loved incorporating these into the styling, layering them with our charger plates and table decor to elevate the look while allowing her own creativity to shine through.
The top table reflected the same timeless style that defined the entire wedding - simple but incredibly effective. Single white roses stood gracefully in slim cylinder vases, accompanied by candles. Against the stunning backdrop of The Palm House, it created an effortlessly romantic setting that felt elegant without ever feeling overdone.
We also wanted the styling to flow naturally throughout the venue, so we added subtle touches beyond the dining tables. White calla lilies were displayed on the bar to continue the floral story, while a bespoke His & Hers cocktail menu added another personal detail for guests to enjoy. At the ceremony, each reserved family seat had been dressed with beautifully designed reserved signs and handheld fans, both created by Jasmine herself. It turned out to be one of the best decisions of the day, as the soaring summer temperatures made The Palm House even warmer beneath its spectacular glass roof. The fans were certainly appreciated by every guest in attendance. After the ceremony they also served little pancakes out to their guest for canapés - such a fun idea!
As daylight began to fade and the evening celebrations approached, the venue transformed once again. The ceremony flowers found a new home framing the live band's stage, creating a stunning backdrop for the evening entertainment. To add a little fun to the celebration, we introduced disco balls alongside the flowers, creating the perfect balance between timeless elegance and a lively party atmosphere. It was exactly the kind of transition Jasmine and Christopher had imagined for their day.
Their choice of fashion complemented the styling perfectly. The groomsmen wore classic black tie, while the bridesmaids looked effortlessly elegant in black dresses. Against the soft white florals and lush greenery of The Palm House, every photograph felt refined, modern and timeless.
Like every wedding, there were a few last-minute changes in the lead up to the day, including a typo on the seating plan that needed correcting quickly. We're always there to support our couples with whatever they need, so making those final adjustments was simply part of ensuring everything ran seamlessly. Jasmine later said, "Every little detail was styled exactly how I imagined. They also went above and beyond with all the last minute changes - including a typo I made on our seating plan which they rectified within 24 hours!"
Receiving feedback like that reminds us why we love what we do. Every wedding is about far more than flowers and styling; it's about creating an experience that allows our couples to relax and enjoy one of the biggest days of their lives.
When we asked Jasmine what advice she would give future couples, her answer couldn't have been more fitting: "Trust your suppliers. They are there with you every step of the journey."
Jasmine and Christopher's wedding was the perfect reminder that timeless styling doesn't have to be extravagant. By embracing the natural beauty of The Palm House, choosing a refined colour palette and making thoughtful styling decisions throughout the day, they created a celebration that felt effortlessly elegant from beginning to end. It was an absolute privilege to bring their vision to life, and we'll always look back on this beautiful wedding with a smile.
