Planning a wedding is incredibly exciting, but working out how much everything costs can be a little overwhelming.

How much should you budget for a photographer? What does a wedding florist actually charge? And how much should you expect to spend on styling your venue?

Here at The Rustic Wedding Company, we've spent over a decade working with couples and wedding suppliers across Leicestershire and the Midlands. We understand how important it is to have a realistic idea of costs before making those all-important booking decisions.

So, we've put together a guide to wedding supplier prices to help you plan your budget with confidence.

What is the average cost of a wedding in the Midlands?

According to Bridebook's 2026 UK Wedding Report, which draws on responses from around 7,000 married and engaged couples, the average UK wedding costs around £20,604.

Of course, this is an average rather than a spending target. Your wedding could cost considerably less or more depending on your guest numbers, venue, date and chosen suppliers.

Remember, a supplier's quoted price will depend on their package, experience, location and the amount of work involved.

Let's take a closer look at some of the main expenses.

1. Wedding venue and catering

Your venue is likely to be one of the largest expenses, particularly if you're planning a traditional wedding with a full wedding breakfast and evening reception.

The East Midlands venue-hire average is around £4,739 according to Bridebook's regional venue listings.

Some venues provide catering, furniture and other essentials within a package, while others charge separately.

Our advice: Always check whether your quotation includes exclusive use, catering, drinks, furniture, staffing and VAT. A lower initial venue-hire fee doesn't necessarily mean a lower overall cost.

2. Wedding photography and videography

Photographers and videographers capture the moments you'll look back on long after your wedding day.

Pricing can vary depending on the number of hours of coverage, whether a second photographer is included, the editing involved and additional products such as albums.

Bridebook's 2026 photography guide suggests that UK wedding photography typically ranges from £500 to £2,500, with some suppliers charging more.

Before booking, ask how many hours are included, how many images you can expect and whether travel expenses are included in your package.

3. Wedding flowers

Wedding flowers can include everything from bridal bouquets and buttonholes to table centrepieces, ceremony arches and statement floral installations.

The cost will depend on flower varieties, seasonal availability, quantities and the complexity of the arrangements.

For example, published 2026/2027 prices from us show bridal bouquets starting from £90 and oversized bouquets from £150, with a £500 minimum spend for bespoke orders, excluding delivery and packaging.

A simple bridal party order will naturally cost less than a full floral installation across an entire venue.

Our advice: Consider which floral arrangements will have the greatest impact. Ceremony flowers can sometimes be repositioned for the reception, helping you make more use of your arrangements throughout the day.

4. Wedding styling, décor and prop hire

This is where we come in!

Your wedding styling brings together all those beautiful details that make your celebration feel personal to you.

From table runners, charger plates and candles to ceremony backdrops, signage and floral installations, there are lots of different ways to style your venue.

At The Rustic Wedding Company, we offer three different approaches to suit your wedding plans and your available budget.

Bespoke Full Styling

Our fully tailored styling service is designed around your vision, combining expert design, our extensive prop collection and professional installation.

Our Design & Styling Fee is £650, with prop hire and delivery and collection charged separately.

As a guide, our bespoke styling projects typically fall between £2,000 and £4,000, depending on your requirements.

Essentials Styling Package

A carefully curated styling package for couples who want beautifully coordinated ceremony, reception and table décor without designing everything from scratch.

Prices for this are based on how many tables need decorating and how many guests you have.

DIY Prop Hire

For creative couples who prefer to style their own wedding, our online prop-hire collection allows you to select individual pieces and create your own look.

5. Wedding entertainment

From DJs and live bands to acoustic singers and string quartets, wedding entertainment can take many different forms.

According to Bridebook, average reception music spending is £1,061, while ceremony music averages £845. These are separate categories, and many couples won't book both.

When comparing suppliers, find out how long they'll perform, whether sound equipment is included and whether additional travel or accommodation charges apply.

6. Bridal hair and makeup

Hair and makeup prices can depend on the number of people requiring services, the location and whether trials are included.

As a local example, a Midlands based makeup artist advertises a 2026/2027 bridal makeup package at £350, including a two-hour trial, with bridesmaids priced at £95 each.

Make sure you establish whether the quote covers just the bride or the wider bridal party.

7. Wedding cake and stationery

Your cake and stationery are two areas where you can choose something simple or go all out.

For cakes, the number of portions, flavours, tiers and decorative elements can influence the final price.

For stationery, think beyond invitations. You may also need save-the-dates, order-of-service booklets, place cards, menus, table numbers and a table plan.

Ask your suppliers for an itemised quotation so you understand exactly what you're paying for.

How can you make your wedding budget go further?

Having worked on hundreds of weddings, we've seen how thoughtful planning can help couples make the most of their styling budget.

A few things worth considering:

  • Prioritise your must-haves. Decide which elements matter most to you before dividing up your budget.

  • Ask about repurposing. Ceremony flowers and décor may be suitable for reuse during the reception.

  • Choose a venue with the right foundations. Existing furniture, beautiful interiors and included décor can reduce the amount of additional styling required.

  • Consider your guest numbers. Fewer guests may mean fewer place settings, centrepieces and catering costs.

  • Understand the complete quotation. Always establish whether VAT, delivery, collection, setup and additional staffing are included.

Most importantly, don't feel you need to include every traditional wedding element. Your budget should reflect the celebration you actually want.

A final word from Team Rustic

Wedding costs can seem daunting when you're first starting out, but understanding the average price of different suppliers gives you a useful foundation for planning.

Remember, the cheapest quotation isn't always the best fit, and the most expensive doesn't automatically mean it's right for you either.

Look carefully at what's included, explore suppliers' previous work and choose professionals whose style, experience and approach align with your plans.

If you're planning a wedding in Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire or the wider Midlands and would love some help bringing your styling vision to life, we'd love to hear from you.

Ready to create your dream wedding?

With love,

Team Rustic x
