This month we have got another beautiful wedding to share with you all. This time we're heading to the fabulous Swancar Farm Country House in Nottinghamshire for Megan & Josh.
Team Rustic are big fans of Swancar Farm - on the outside it is a gorgeous 16th Century country house but it has all the feels of a rustic barn on the inside. It is also the perfect mix of modern vs vintage.
Megan & Josh first contacted us about their wedding styling when we were located at our old showroom; way back in July 2020 in fact. When they told me what sort of thing they were looking for and their peach and white colour scheme, I was instantly on board with their vision.
We styled the entire venue for them and also created all of the venue & bridal party flowers.
The ceremony was held in the upstairs gallery room. We styled it using our gorgeous fresh flower moongate arch, white chair drapes, side tied with a sprig of eucalyptus & a soft grey ribbon, real rose petals with a mixture of candles in glass cylinder vases and copper lanterns to line the aisle and a beautiful fresh flower arrangement on the ceremony table (this then got moved to the Top Table Following the ceremony to make the most of it!)
Downstairs we set up the wedding breakfast tables using our tall copper riser stand centrepieces with fresh flower bombs on top and a trio of floating candles at the base. I'm just loving the peach tones in the flowers against the greenery aren't you?
We also provided clear acrylic menus, textured grey charger plates and mini log slice place names with a sprig of greenery to decorate.
The top table display was one of my favourite designs to date with a cheesecloth waterfall drape draped to the front of the whole table, a fresh greenery garland & floral arrangement along the front of the table and a mixture of floating candles and lanterns at the base.
Extra fairy lights and trailing greenery hanging behind on the huge fireplace backdrop and white chair drapes with a sprig of greenery finished off this table perfectly.

We also created a gorgeous acrylic table plan hanging on a copper pipe frame, a beautiful welcome display and provided a copper hexagonal cake stand too.

Megan also entrusted us to create her bridal bouquet too and Lesley was super excited to use peach tones in this because it meant she was able to include her favourite ever flower as it matched the colour scheme perfectly - "Sweet Juliet" Garden Rose by David Austin
Just check out the Bouquet below... (all the heart eyes!)
Following the wedding we asked Megan for a little bit of feedback. Here's what she had to say...
Tell us a little bit about your wedding day…
From start to finish our wedding day was the most incredible day we could have ever imagined!! It’s so true when they say it’s one of the best days of your life! We chose to get married at Swancar Farm in Nottingham after falling in love with the venue.. it was just so perfect for us. We love long summer nights so a summer wedding felt right, it just happened to be that 2nd July was the last Saturday left so we booked it there and then!
Of course then it was time to secure TEAM RUSTIC!
What was your favourite part of the whole day?
I’d have to say marrying my soul mate.. Seeing Josh at the end of the aisle was the best and most surreal moment - nothing quite prepares you for all the emotions you feel. A top highlight was when Sarah Sax played after our first dance! She was a surprise to all our guests! And I just remember being so happy and seeing everyone having the absolute best time! We woke up the next morning and both said.. wow was that really OUR weddding!!!
Which styling element did you love the most?
Can I say EVERYTHING!!? Honestly Lesley and her team made our wedding vision come true!
If I had to choose anything it would be our wedding breakfast room I remember seeing it for the first time and thinking wow! The flowers were exactly what we envisioned and complemented the venue so well.
Any top tips for engaged couples?
It’s YOUR wedding! You will never please everyone so do what makes you happy! It’s your day! Don’t sweat about the little things and just enjoy every moment of your day! I promise you nothing else matters.
I remember being so worried it would rain and was checking the weather every hour for about a week before haha! But on the day remember I waking up and the weather wasn’t even a thought! It could have poured with rain all day and it honestly wouldn’t have mattered! Oh and obviously book your suppliers ASAP!
Why did you choose Team Rustic?
Our venue was very rustic and farmhouse vibes and I was recommended by a friend about Lesley and her team! I remember looking on their website and looking at their work and thinking how incredible and individual their styling was! The whole experience from our first showroom appointment to the big day was nothing short of amazing.
Lesley is no doubt an expert!! She helped us create the most beautiful vision and even suggested things I hadn’t even thought of!
You aren’t just getting a styling service, Lesley is there to help you through it all. It was completely stress free and she organised/communicated everything with our other suppliers so it was so smooth on the day.
Anything else you want us to include in your blog write up…?
If you are thinking about booking The Rustic Wedding Company don’t think.. just BOOK THEM! You don’t regret it I promise you!
Thanks again from the bottom of our hearts for everything!! We will miss you!
