We are no strangers to the Cripps & Co portfolio. Widely known for their spectacular barn venues with a keen eye for detail, Cripps & Co get it right every time and we are yet to attend one of their venues that doesn't blow our mind every time we set foot on the premises.
When Gemma and Sean asked us to be a part of their wedding team we were delighted to not only get to work with another wonderful couple but, it was our first ever set up at Grangefields. From the moment we took a look at the venue online, we knew this was going to be something amazing.
Grangefields is one of the newest additions to the Cripps & Co ensemble. Whilst set on the grounds of the historic Trusley Estate in Derbyshire, it's the perfect blend of traditional rustic with a modern blend which is perfect for couples who want to mix things up throughout the day. Grangefields hosts plenty of space, natural light and of course, it goes without saying that the barn is everything you could want when it comes to a jaw droppingly beautiful barn space.
Gemma and Sean's wedding was hosted on a hot Summers day back in August 2021. Restriction free, nothing in the world mattered when Gemma walked down the aisle towards her dapper husband to be who was waiting by the foliaged laced, hexagon moon-gate for his beautiful bride.
Team Rustic were asked to provide a modern, rustic style theme with a soft, sage green palette. Well we all know we love a green palette so this was an absolute joy for us!
After guests were welcomed into the venue with our popular welcome signage in rustic wood sat upon an easel and lined with foliage, guests were asked to take their seats in the barn with no set seating plan or no assigned sides, instead, guests were asked to sit wherever they chose, ready to celebrate our couple and their love story.
The barn styles itself with its high ceilings, arched beams, industrial chandeliers and the natural bursts of light from main window and the little pockets of light coming from the window slits.
We left the aisle clear and added one of our new sage green chair drapes to every other whitewashed chair that sat aisle side. As the aisle is quite long in comparison to other venues, it wasn't necessary to add a drape to every seat - sometimes less is more!!
We provided our hexagon moon-gate and draped it with stunning sage green chiffon fabric and a foliage bomb with soft white blooms.
After a drinks reception and some outdoor sunshine, guest headed over to the mirrored table plan signage to find their designated seating area inside the Argentinian Asado.
Once inside, guests sat down to eat at the sage green and white styled tables complete where we saw our chair drapes make a return - complete with a foliage sprig to add a touch of class and elegance.
We centred each round table with a sage green runner and added simple, stylish terrarium vases to the middle of the table, surrounded by a foliage centre piece and a table number in a glass frame.
Simple details make the biggest impact which is why we loved adding the soft grey textured charger plates with a folded white napkin, foliage spring and the cutest rustic wooden heart name favours to each place setting.
We moved the hexagon arch into the wedding break fast area following the ceremony to create a backdrop for the top table which looked even more spectacular when we added a neon sign to it.
We always recommend that then moving any backdrop, you choose to switch up the design as you'll get a completely different look every time.
One of our favourite cake makers, Deliciously Devine once again created the most elegant, semi-naked 3 tier cake that sat on a wooden log slice for the ultimate rustic touch, TRWC complimented this with our foliage decorated cake hoop. The simplicity of the cake and the styling surrounding it, was simply perfect. Just how a rustic cake table should be done!
We also created a dessert station for our couple usual simple drapes, extra greenery, log slices and glasses vases. It really is possible to set up stunning areas with just a handful of props.
we left empty glass vases on this table ready for the bridesmaids to pop their bouquets in there following the ceremony so that they became part of the decor - I highly recommend doing this if you have bridesmaids as it makes the most of these flowers!
We also set up a flip flop station for those tired dancing feet and a cute little sparkler station for guest to enjoy when it became dark.
We created tags for the individual sparkers and set them in a glass box with the wooden signage and of course, some extra foliage just to add a little more dazzle.
Adding a gentle pop of colour was such a good idea and helped us to create a beautifully modest rustic setting for our couple on their special day.
Our moongate once again proved itself to be a worthwhile investment with not one but three moves around the venue for different times of the day (it was then used as a Photo Booth for the evening!). This wedding was the perfect example of how to get the most from your decor and of course, what value for money it actually is.
Looking through the images, it was clear to see a good day was had by everyone and, as always, we were over the moon to be a part of it.
